Dr. Shamayita Patra is a Bangiya Sangeet Parishad certified Painting Teacher. Her journey in painting started with her mother’s (Smt. Bani Patra, Bengali Amateur Writer) flowers and kalkas (flowral patterns) along with the inspiration received from her father’s (Mr. Tinkori Patra, Retd. Teacher, Civil Eng., Cerified Valuer and Poet) self taught portraits and sceneries, when she was only 4 years old. Her training started in the year 1992 under the guidance of prominent artist of bengal Mr. Kalachand Das.His teachings were further refined with his continuous guidance and elder sisterly strict supervision & encouragement of Smt. Kavita V. Bordia (an eminent interior designer).

As per the order of her art teachers, she is here to propagate her talent & creativity, and, her gurus’ legacy to the new minds. She is here to enable every soul to express them in any form of painting. She believes “Anyone can Draw”.

By profession Dr. Shamayita Patra is Associate Professor at renowned Private University SVVV, Indore, M.P.,India. She is a Textile Engineer. Her alma maters are – B. Tech (Hon.) (Calcutta University), M. Tech ( IIT Delhi), Ph.D ( IIT Delhi and AIIMS Delhi). She is Dr. D. S. Kothari Post Doctoral Fellow.
